Overview
This workshop will bring together scientists at all levels to share results, approaches, and ideas in terms of rapid measurements of VOCs by the novel chemical ionization mass spectrometers.
The workshop will focus on:
•Presentation of capabilities of new Time-of-Flight mass spectrometric advancements including PTR3, VOCUS. •Measurements of VOCs at broad temporal and spatial scales from variety of ecosystems, and in the lab. •Measurements of direct VOC fluxes by Eddy Covariance of VOCs (selected compounds vs entire suite), including standardisation and best practice. •Automated approaches to embracing complexity – tools for peak fitting and compound identification making sense of chemistry and fluxes. •Providing user forum to express challenges, and ways forward.
This workshop is being organised by iLEAPS and UKRI Centre for Ecology & Hydrology. The workshop is associated with and follows EGU Science Session “AS3.33/BG1.20 Volatile Organic Compounds in the Atmosphere: Sources, Sinks and Transformations” https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2019/orals/30585
